CACTUS PEARS
When Anand returns from Mumbai to rural western India to observe a ten-day mourning ritual for his recently deceased father, he is reunited with his childhood friend, Balya. Beneath the suspicious gaze of the village community and the insistent pull of tradition, a tender queer love story begins to surface. Cactus Pears unfolds through whispering winds, delicately composed images, fleeting gestures, and the quiet strength of a deeply supportive mother.
