SONGS OF THE HORIZON - Amsterdam
Songs of the Horizon Amsterdam allows us to listen to the horizon by translating its lines into soundscapes. The state of the landscape determines how it sounds; when it is foggy or when the sun sets, the soundscape changes.
The horizons of Amsterdam East are transformed into music. This video installation invites visitors to rediscover their relationship with these horizons.

Walkshop
On Saturday 19th of April Werner de Valk and Sifra Coulet organise a Walkshop. In this walking workshop, you can visit some locations that are part of the artwork Songs of the Horizon by Werner de Valk, which will also be shown at Sprouts. We’ll walk with the artist to Flevopark and listen to some fragments while witnessing the current corresponding horizons. This will set the ground for a conversation in the park about the impact of digital progress on the experience of space, both environmental and psychological.

shifting horizons
Our cultural program aims to deepen the ecological and social dialogue initiated by our festival. Featuring an Eco Expo and a live audiovisual concert, it offers rich material for contemplation and discussion. Through woven textures, shifting sands, and sonic landscapes, the Eco Expo explores land as memory, movement and sound. Weaving, erosion, and sound shape stories of strength, change, and place—inviting us to reflect on connection and resistance.
