Three tomboys in their early twenties are united in their defiance of traditional gender norms in Slovenia. But when Mihrije welcomes trans woman Fantasy into their close-knit trinity, the group’s dynamics begin to shift. Kukla punctures the greyness of conservative society with a balanced blend of sweetness, kitsch and desire, creating deeply sympathetic characters, each in their own way searching for self-acceptance.
