FARIO

Sprouts Film Festival 2025 will kick off with an opening film that is both ecologically focused and a promising debut.

Farmer’s son turned city boy Léo (played by rising star Finnegan Oldfield) returns home to confront the aftermath of his father’s death. When he suspects that the trout in the local river are mutating due to mining activities in the area, he begins to unravel. Prost captures the environmental angst felt by a growing number of people. This introspective balancing act between reality and imagination is enriched with strong music and family dynamics. Fario sheds light on the issue of farmer suicides in France while leaving space for ecological resistance.

From 18:15 there will be a live dinner performance by Papi Gaba’s Test and Measure Ensemble in the restaurant, opened by Songs of the Horizon by Werner de Valk

Papi Gaba directs his ensemble that is made up of formerly scientific measurement and test devices, which were an inspiration for the first electronic music. The music is accompanied by colourful images generated by different devices. Songs of the Horizon is one of the works at the ECO EXPO, we will listen to the soundscapes inspired by the horizons of Amsterdam Oost.
