OPEN CALL

Sprouts Film Festival invites young artists/recent art school graduates, whose work revolves around ecological and sustainability topics, to apply with their (pre-existing) work for the Eco EXPO that will take place during the upcoming fourth edition of Sprouts Film Festival in April. The theme for this year’s exhibition is Shifting Horizons.⁣

WHAT?

Sprouts Film Festival is a yearly, interdisciplinary film festival. Sprouts wants to make the cinema a site for peaceful protest by showing newly released ecocinema and socially critical debut films. All selected features and shorts are fiction, because it is our belief that through the power of imagination we can alter our behaviour for the better and rethink our relationship with the more-than-human world. Since 2023 SFF organises an interdisciplinary exhibition during the festival, with photography, (audio visual) installations and visual/illustrative art. The theme for this years exhibition is Shifting Horizons.

SHIFTING HORIZONS

With this theme we invite the artists and visitors of the exhibition to explore new perspectives on the boundaries between the human and the more-than-human world. This year’s exhibition will consist of 3 different artists (duo’s). In line with the theme we would like to hold more space for digital art.

Dates

Apply deadline: 27 January 2025
EXPO date: 14-20 April 2025
